Ugbesia Denies Collecting N8.5m From Ordia

……Says; “That is pure lies being propagated by jobless people looking for political relevance”

By Dr. Mike Enahoro

I read an article titled; _”After Ugbesia Scammed Ordia N8.5m And Gave No Result, He’s Now Scamming The Governor,”_ so, I decided to place a call on the former Minister of Solid Minerals and Senator who represented Edo Central Senatorial District between 2007 and 2015, Sen. Odion Magnus Ugbesia to verify the authenticity of the various allegations in the article. Below is our conversation.

Me; good morning my leader sir.
“Mike, good morning. How are you?” Fine, I replied and without wasting anytime I went straight to the point. Sir, I read an article carrying different allegations against you. I don’t know if you have seen it. I wanted to forward it to you to find out how true are the allegations, sir?”

According to the former Senator, “…of course, I have seen it. They are all lies created by jobless social media people. It would have been wise for anyone with such allegations to come up with evidence to that effect…Mike, I can tell you in clear terms, those allegations are all lies and do not exist.”

Sen. Ugbesia stressed that “yes, we have issues in our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. And we in Edo Central Senatorial District decided to come together to reconcile our political differences. It is normal and it’s election time. As a political party, we want to win the election. What we did was to invite critical party leaders from the component five local government councils and we held a meeting in my place to reconcile our political differences. That is exactly what we did “

On the issue of collecting money from the leaders of the All Progressive Congress, APC from Edo Central, Ugbesia said, “Mike, I have told you that all those allegations are lies and do not exist. Just disregard them and continue your good work.”

Thank you sir for the audience. “Thank you Mike for calling.” Ugbesia concluded.
